Solidarity evening with the Saharawi people in Mantes la Jolie

PUSL .- Friday 27th of September, the section of the French Communist Party in Mantes La-Jolie organized an evening of solidarity with the Saharawi people. The evening began with an intervention of the Mantes la Jolie municipal councilor Mr.Mark Jamet who spoke about the importance of this initiative to raise awareness of the French public on the Saharawi cause. He reiterated the position of his party in support of the Saharawi people in their struggle for freedom and independence. The deputy representative of the Polisario Front in France and in charge of the Saharawi community, shed light on the current situation in Western Sahara. After these two presentations there was the projection of the documentary: the last colony of Africa. Which was followed by a debate and in-depth discussions on the history of the conflict and legal status of Western Sahara and the and the position of Francein this conflict.

Among the guests was Mr. Pascal Torre, in charge of the PCF’s department for external relations, who spoke about the position of France, which by its support of Morocco pushes for more intransigence and disrespect against international legitimacy.

Master Olfa Ouled, Advocate of Political Prisoners of Gdeim Izik, testified about the repression and violations of Hurman Rights in occupied occupied territories, as well as the plight of Saharawi political prisoners in moroccan jails.

The event had a large participation of the Saharawi community especially, young people.
