PUSL.- The prominent Saharawi diplomat Mhamed Khaddad died today in a hospital in Madrid after prolonged illness. Mr. Khaddad was in treatment for a cancer for several months in the Spanish capital.
The Saharawi head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Polisario Front and Coordinator with MINURSO Mr. Khaddad was well known for his diplomatic capabilities.

After a long fight against sickness, died today April 1st, 2020, the Saharawi diplomatic leader, Mhamed Ould Khaddad Ould Musa, member of the National Secretariat of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia El Hamra and Río de Oro, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Secretary, and the Saharawi Coordinator with the United Nations Mission for the Referendum on Western Occidental, MINURSO.
The late Saharawi leader Mhamed Khaddad joined the ranks of the Polisario Front, with patriotism and being very young, and early met the Saharawi spiritual leader Luali Mustafá Sayed.
The Saharawi people lost without doubt a honorable man, loyal and committed to the main objective of the martyrs, fighters and leaders of the Polisario Front who accompanied the Saharawi march , with all sincerity, seriousness, sacrifice and generosity.
He did not stop at a single moment, even though he suffered from an incurable disease, patient and tenderly, to serve his national cause, following his development, contributing to his vast experience, rich in data and his profound understanding of the national reality in the context of the fulfillment of his duty, with all his strength and determination.
Inside the movement he moved between different tasks and responsibilities, internally, among national states and institutions, in foreign countries, in embassies and diplomatic missions playing a fundamental role in the UN African African international path, as coordinator with MINURSO and the leader, and member, from the Saharawi negotiating delegation, which culminated in its presence with compromise with efficiency, perseverance and success. Testimony in the legal battle for the natural resources of the Saharawi people, especially in the European scene.
As a result of this irreparable great loss, and offering the most sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and to all the Saharawi people, the Presidency of the Republic will announce the national mourning for a week, starting today, April 1, 2020, throughout the national territory.
