PUSL.- Sidahmed Lemjeyid, a Saharawi political prisoner from the Gdeim Izik group, remains in prolonged solitary confinement in the Moroccan prison of Ait Melloul.
According to information from the Lemjeyid family, he did not obtain any medical treatment despite the extremely worrying health condition.
Lemjeyid was sentenced to life imprisonment and remains as the rest of this group awaiting the Moroccan Supreme Court’s decision on the latest trial that did not meet the basic requirements of a fair and equitable procedure.
Despite requesting a transfer to Bouzakarn for more than a year, Lemjeyid remains in Ait Melloul.
The prolonged solitary confinement that most Gdeim Izik prisoners are subjected to is considered one of the most cruel forms of torture (see our article: Isolation – torture).
