PUSL.- After the recent events that took place in Western Sahara, Emilio Lozada Garcia, general director of bilateral affairs for the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, published a statement on the ministry’s website reaffirming Cuba’s position regarding Western Sahara and its support for legitimate right of the Saharawi people to self-determination.

Cuba notes with concern the events that have taken place in recent days in Western Sahara and reaffirms its invariable position of support in seeking a solution to the issue of Western Sahara that guarantees the exercise of the legitimate right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, according to the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, International Law and the relevant United Nations resolutions, in particular General Assembly 1514 (XV), “Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Countries and Colonial Peoples”.
