(SPS) – The Commission of Solidarity with the Saharawi People of New Zealand asks the government of its country to stop following a policy of double standards, abandoning its involvement in the plundering of the natural resources of Western Sahara.
In a statement released yesterday on the occasion of the arrival of a ship carrying phosphate stolen from Western Sahara, the New Zealand commission “condemned the attitude of its government, inviting it to stop importing natural resources from an illegally occupied territory”.
The statement adds that this stolen cargo, imported by the company Ravensdown, joins another that arrived last January imported by the company Ballance Agri-Nutrients, stressing that New Zealand’s involvement in the plundering of natural resources from the occupied territories of Western Sahara affects negatively the country’s reputation and contradicts its stance of support for Ukraine.
