PUSL.- Mr. Hassan Dah and Mr. Houcein Zawi saharawi political prisoners of the Gdeim Izik group, currently detained in Kenitra prison started an open hungerstrike on the 1st of April 2022.
According to the families of Mr. Dah and Mr. Zawi both are in a very bad health situation.
Mr. Zawi is vomiting blood and has extreme pain at the kidney levels.
Mr. Dah has lost already a significant amount of weight. Both of them have periods of unconsciousness.
Due to the extreme tortures they have endured since their arrest in 2010 and due to the medical neglect and several hungerstrikes they have made their health was already very frail.
The hungerstrikers demand to be transferred to a prison in Western Sahara their homeland, and the respect of their most basic rights.
The hungerstrike is the last weapon of a prisoner, it is only when the situation is so bad that life seems not to have any meaning any more and the pain, humiliation, desperation and abuse are so terrible that to put their life at risk is a final plea.
These men made several hungerstrikes since 2010, each hungerstrike destroys their organs, each hungerstrike brings them nearer to death.
This plea for help to achieve justice most be heard by the international community.
