Pretoria (South Africa) – South Africa President, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, also President of the African National Congress (ANC) in power, affirmed in his closing speech yesterday before ANC 6th Policy Conference, that his country and Party cannot rest as long as Western Sahara and Palestine are under occupation.

“We cannot rest while Western Sahara remains under occupation. We cannot accept that occupation and oppression is to be the fate of the Palestinian people” he said to the participants to the conference held from the 28 to 31 July in Johannesburg.

He further stated that “these are among the struggles that we need to take up with greater vigour if we are to contribute to building a better world.”

The ANC conference was an opportunity for the 2000 participants to debate on various political positions the Party needed to have a clear-cut positions on, including the solidarity with Western Sahara and Palestine among other.
