PRETORIA (South Africa) – APS.dz.- The President of the Saharawi Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali met, in the framework of his state visit to South Africa, with the ruling alliance in South Africa, whose parties reiterated their unconditional support for the Saharawi people.
During the meeting, the parties forming the ruling Alliance in South Africa reiterated their unconditional support for the Saharawi people, said the Saharawi News Agency (SPS), which said the meeting is an opportunity to consolidate the strong relationship between the Alliance and the Polisario Front and seek new mechanisms to promote the Saharawi cause.
During the meeting, the forms of cooperation and partnership with the Polisario Front and its consolidation in different areas were discussed.
For his part, the President of the Saharawi Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr Brahim Ghali, thanked the Alliance for this meeting and for its support to the Saharawi people in their legitimate struggle for freedom, self-determination and independence.
President Brahim Ghali conveyed to the ruling Alliance in South Africa the greetings of the republican organisations, being the levers of the political organisation of the Polisario Front.
“We are experiencing the same sufferings and sacrifices that South Africa experienced in the face of colonialism and apartheid”, said President Brahim Ghali addressing the ruling Alliance.
Mr Brahim Ghali kept the ruling Alliance informed of the latest developments in the Saharawi cause, noting that the situation has changed since 13 November 2020, following the Moroccan occupation’s violation of the ceasefire agreement, “which led us to go to war, to defend the legitimate rights of the Saharawi people”, he added.
As a reminder, the ruling alliance in South Africa includes the African National Congress (ANC), the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) and the South African Communist Party (SACP).
