The CAT answered Immediately after to the request of urgent measures and asked the Moroccan Government to put an end to the prolonged isolation that Abbahah is enduring now for 8 months.
Mr. Abbahah should be released regarding his health status, the Committee said.
Interim measure are given by the CAT as a protection until the final decision on the case is given.
Maître Olfa Ouled did not want to comment on the ongoing procedures in the Committee against Torture, since these procedures are lengthy and confidential.

PUSL.- From 11am on Saturday 20 October until Monday 22nd October, the page porunsahalibre.org (PUSL) was inoperable and inaccessible. This “technical problem” happened minutes after the publication of the report of the Western Sahara Foundation on Torture of the Saharawi population under occupation.
The report clearly demonstrates the continued practice of torture by the Moroccan authorities in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.
Torture has been practiced for decades without the international community acting.

PUSL.- Today El Bachir Khadda entered his 35th day of hunger strike. The Saharawi political prisoner of the Gdeim Izik Group is in protest against the continuous ill treatment, prolonged confinement, and demanding the transfer from Tiflet2 prison which is over 1300km from his home town in Western Sahara to a prison nearer to his family.
The Family of Mr. Khadda is extremely worried about his life threatening situation.
In the first weeks Mr. Khadda was put in the infermary Ward although isolated from other prisoners but according to the last information avaible he is now alone in his “normal” cell where he is in prolonged confinement since 16th September 2017.
The Family urges the international community to act and holds the Moroccan authorities responsible for the life of El Bachir Khadda.
The possible death of Mr. Khadda who was abducted by the Moroccan occupation authorities in 2010 in El Aaiun, after the dismantlement of the Gdeim Izik protest camp, tortured for years, victim of a military and civil trial both null and void before the law, will be on the hands not only of the Moroccan authorities but also of the international community who stood silent. Mr. HADDI fell into a coma yesterday, thus suspending, de facto, the hunger strike he had started to protest against his isolation since his transfer in September 2017.
The life of Mr. HADDI and the 3 other prisoners, Mr. ABBAHAH, Mr. KHADDA and Mr. BOURIAL remain in the hands of the administration of the prison of Tilfet, which seems to act with impunity.
M. BOURIAL, as soon as he arrived at Tiflet prison yesterday, was deprived of all his belongings and immediately placed in solitary confinement. His lawyer, Maître OULED, told us that he would continue the hunger strike until death because death could not be worse than Tiflet 2. Read more
