Saharawi political prisoner El Bachir Khadda: 35 days in hunger strike
PUSL.- Today El Bachir Khadda entered his 35th day of hunger strike. The Saharawi political prisoner of the Gdeim Izik Group is in protest against the continuous ill treatment, prolonged confinement, and demanding the transfer from Tiflet2 prison which is over 1300km from his home town in Western Sahara to a prison nearer to his family.
The Family of Mr. Khadda is extremely worried about his life threatening situation.
In the first weeks Mr. Khadda was put in the infermary Ward although isolated from other prisoners but according to the last information avaible he is now alone in his “normal” cell where he is in prolonged confinement since 16th September 2017.
The Family urges the international community to act and holds the Moroccan authorities responsible for the life of El Bachir Khadda.
The possible death of Mr. Khadda who was abducted by the Moroccan occupation authorities in 2010 in El Aaiun, after the dismantlement of the Gdeim Izik protest camp, tortured for years, victim of a military and civil trial both null and void before the law, will be on the hands not only of the Moroccan authorities but also of the international community who stood silent.
