Morocco: slow murder of Saharawi political prisoners

PUSL.- Morocco not only ignores the decisions and recommendations of the UN and its mechanisms in the area of ​​human rights but exacerbates the situation of Saharawi political prisoners who are subject to constant reprisals.

El Bachir Khadda of the group of Gdeim Izik ended a hunger strike that lasted 43 days and is in a state of extreme physical debilitation. The director of the Tiflet prison where he is being held has not yet sent any doctor or nurse to assess Khadda’s situation.

This journalist and human rights activist is unable to stand, is in a wheelchair without the guards helping him to move. In prolonged confinement in a cell without the minimum of conditions and without access to adequate food.

Abdallah Abbahah another political prisoner from Gdeim Izik’s group, held in the same prison has been on hunger strike for 33 days, in a cold cell, without any furniture, with only three thin blankets and drinking water.

Abbahah suffers from rheumatism and intense pain due to the the torture suffered since 2010, as well as suffering from lung problems and asthma.

Mohamed Bourial of the same group and in the same prison has also been on hunger strike since 12 October and in critical health situation.

These three prisoners have psychological sequels due to prolonged confinement and continuous psychological torture.

The prisoners of Ait Melloul of the same group have been subject to poisoning through the food given to them.

Brahim Ismaili and Sidahmed Lemjeyid are victims of this form of maltreatment for the second time in less than 2 months, Mohamed Lefkir and Mohamed Bani were seriously affected during the first poisoning.

Political prisoners of the Gdeim Izik Group are victims of kidnapping, torture, continuous ill-treatment, prolonged isolation, racism, physical assault, intentional medical negligence and administration of inappropriate medication since their arrest in 2010. The Moroccan government is destroying the health of these prisoners in an intentional way in order to put their lives at risk.

This intentional actions can not be qualified as anything less than intent of murder.
