FUSO sends a letter to the Security Council requesting imminent and immediate intervention in Western Sahara

To the honorable members of the Security Council of the United Nations

The Western Sahara Foundation, Public Law Institution, which is registered under Number 06/0119 of the Registry of Foundations (CAEx.), and in the fulfillment of its purposes, among which is the human rights of the Saharawi population, recognized and declared of Public Utility by the Spanish State, in accordance with Law 50/2002 of December 26, and before the latest events, which reproduce the situation experienced by the Saharawi people, in the non-autonomous territory, and for which Moroccan forces used indiscriminate violence against the Saharawi population, on July 19/20 and following days, including the use of real fire / firearms, water cannons, tear gas, house-to-house raids and where the occupation forces  conducted  kidnappings and mass arbitrary detentions including that of  minors and children.

Facing the death in the early hours of July 20, the young Saharawi, 24-year-old Sabah Othman Ahmeida (Injourni), who according to all sources consulted by this Foundation, was hit by a vehicle from the Moroccan authorities, and as consequence of which  suffered wounds that caused her death.

Italian network of solidarity with Saharawi people condemns Moroccan repression

Rome, July 22, 2019 The Italian network of solidarity with the Saharawi people condemned the brutal repression of Saharawi citizens in the territories occupied by the Moroccan occupation forces, calling for an independent investigation into the circumstances of the assassination of young Sabah Othman Hmeida, on the sidelines of the peaceful celebration last Friday the victory of the Algerian team in the final of the CAN 2019.

The network said in a statement that the brutal intervention of Moroccan forces has left dozens wounded, recalling that the young Saharawi woman Sabah Othman Hmeida suffered an intentional fatal accident by the Moroccan police.

“Last Friday, July 19th, thousands of Sahrawis took to the streets of the capital, El-Aaiun, to peacefully celebrate the victory of Algeria against Senegal in the final of the African Cup of Nations (Can 2019) They were brutally beaten and arrested by the Moroccan army and a 23-year-old girl died, “the network said.

Communiqué CEAS: We demand that the Government of Spain not be complicit with its silence of the genocide that is being committed in the Western Sahara occupied by Morocco

In the face of the savage repression and repeated violent attacks against the defenseless Saharawi population in Western Sahara, occupied by the Moroccan army, we want to denounce the murders, such as that of the young Sabah Azman Hamida, 23, deliberately hit by a  vehicle of the auxiliary forces, raiding their homes, kidnapping teenagers, causing them serious injuries. We want to denounce the complicity of the Spanish Government, which looks the other way, and strongly urge you to intervene decisively and demand that the Kingdom of Morocco respect the most elementary Human Rights, and enforce United Nations Resolutions, and stop selling Spanish anti-riot equipment with which the Saharawi people are massacred who peacefully demosntrated for the freedom and independence of their country.

That it be interested in the wounded and disappeared, the brutal repression that the Saharawi population is suffering, and, as it speaks of the defense of Human Rights in Venezuela or in Syria, ask that MINURSO extend its mandate to the protection of  human rights. That it defends before the authorities of Morocco, to be able to enter the Territory to inform about the serious situation that this brother town is going through, and not imprison the Saharawi journalists who are trying to inform. Morocco does not want to know what happens in the so-called Saharawi “Guantanamo”.

Western Sahara: the brutality of Moroccan forces is a real challenge for the UN (Nigerian Movement)

ABUJA, Nigeria (fibladi.com) – The Nigerian Movement for Solidarity with Western Sahara on Wednesday condemned the violent attacks by Moroccan occupying forces against Saharawi civilians last Friday in El-Aaiun, stressing that the African Union (AU) must demonstrate greater commitment to the independence of Western Sahara and against the continuation of colonial rule.

“The Saharawi people are under attack by the Moroccan occupation forces, including uniformed police, the gendarmerie and paramilitary forces,” it said in a statement. Nigerian “condemn the brutalities of all kinds, launched by the Moroccan forces against the Saharawi people”.

“This Moroccan brutality, committed in the presence of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), must be a source of deep concern for all the peoples of the world who love the principles of humanity, freedom and dignity, “said the movement.
