PUSL.- In a press conference last Saturday, Sabri Boukadoum, algerian foreign minister reafirmed that
“It is not just the Western Sahara dossier that the president is following,”
During the press conference journalists questioned Boukadoum about the external threat coming from the country’s western borders referring to Morocco, the minister answered:
“Do not be afraid. Algeria has a strong army and administration. It is a state with a great history of fighting colonialism. ” and added
“Algeria will shift into high gear to meet all the challenges it faces today.”
According to Boukadoum Algeria is monitoring the regional situation, in particular “the presidential election in Niger as well as in Western Sahara, Mauritania and the Mediterranean”.
A press release from the Ministry of Defense informed that a day after his return to the country, president Abdelmadjid Tebboune received on December 30 a report from the head of the algerian army, General Said Chengriha, on “the internal situation and the latest developments in neighboring countries and at the borders.
