CHAHID EL HAFEDH – APS.dz.- The Polisario Front affirmed that the relaunching of the peace operation in Western Sahara remains dependent on the cessation of the violation of the inalienable right of the Saharawi people to self-determination.
This statement was made on Monday during the meeting of the Permanent Bureau of the Polisario General Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Saharawi president Brahim Ghali, devoted to the review of the latest developments in the situation in Western Sahara.
“The responsibility of the United Nations and the Security Council with regard to the decolonisation of Western Sahara, the last colony of Africa, is, more than ever, put to the test,” said the statement sanctioning the meeting, affirming that “the Saharawi people will continue its legitimate struggle under the leadership of its only legitimate representative, the Polisario Front, until the recovery of the full sovereignty of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) over all its territories”.
According to the Saharawi News Agency (SPS), “the participants in the meeting welcomed the courage and determination shown by the Saharawi people during the celebration of the 47th anniversary of national unity”, recalling its historical symbolism and its role as a decisive turning point in the national liberation struggle under the leadership of the Polisario.
The Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front also praised the resistance of the children of the Saharawi people in the occupied regions and the civilians imprisoned in the occupation prisons, against the occupation authorities and their machinery of repression.

The Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front also welcomed the broad support shown for the Saharawi question during the work of the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations and in the framework of its Fourth Committee, as well as the inclusion of this question in the Security Council.
