UNMS participates in the 2nd International Women’s Conference in Berlin

(SPS). The Secretary General of the National Union of Saharawi Women (UNMS), Ms. Chàba Seini, participated yesterday, Saturday, in the work of the II International Conference of Women of the World held in the German capital, Berlin.

The important event, addressed a number of issues, including: the problem of racial discrimination and equality, land occupation and its consequences, anti-imperialism and colonialism in all its aspects.

The international conference was an opportunity for the also member of the National Secretariat of the POLISARIO Front, to give an update on the current situation of the cause, explaining the struggle and resistance of Saharawi women for over 45 years against the Moroccan occupation and the trajectory and work of Saharawi women in the search for political support for the national cause.

She also addressed the alarming Human Rights situation in the occupied cities, in particular the serious violations and repression against Saharawi women in the Moroccan Occupied Areas.

The Saharawi official pointed out the constancy, the capacity and the contribution of women to the Saharawi Revolution and their contribution to the construction of institutions and structures of the Saharawi State.

From the beginning of the revolutionary process, the presence of Saharawi women began to be noticed in the anti-colonial struggle: in demonstrations and in their contribution to the propaganda of the POLISARIO Front as the sole and legitimate representative of the Saharawi people.

In these four decades, the greatness of Saharawi women has become internationally known. Their voice is heard in international forums and on international stages, their just demands receive support and backing from international women’s organisations and human rights organisations.

The Saharawi revolution would not have been possible without the constant presence of women. It is not surprising that women share the struggle, diplomacy and institutional administration with men.
