The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr Brahim Ghali, travelled on Wednesday to the capital of Niger, Niamey, to take part in the Extraordinary Summit of the African Union (AU) on Industrialisation and Economic Diversification, scheduled for 25 November 2022.
This AU Extraordinary Summit, which comes at a time marked by growing crises and geopolitical tensions, aims to transform Africa from a source of raw materials to an industrial powerhouse that produces wealth and adds value to its economies and will discuss the launch of the Continental Free Trade Area as an economic strategy that will achieve economic integration by 2063.
The summit will commence after ministers of the African Union member states discuss thematic reports and draft resolutions to be submitted to the extraordinary summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Union for adoption.
On his arrival at the airport, President Ghali was received by the Prime Minister of Niger, Mr. Ohomodo Muhamado, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Al-Mbeji.
President Ghali will be accompanied by a delegation including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Uld Salek, as well as Nana Labat Rachid and Abdati Breika, Advisers to the Presidency and the SADR Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the AU, Laman Baali.
