PUSL.- According to the Spanish and Moroccan press the United States Under-Secretary of State for International Affairs, Michele Sison, reiterated during her visit to Rabat, the autonomy plan for Western Sahara, presented by Morocco as a “serious, credible and realistic” solution.
In a press conference she affirmed that the “United States continues to consider the autonomy plan presented by Morocco as serious, credible and realistic”.
This conference took place after the meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister, Naser Burita, as reported by several Moroccan media.
Sison, reaffirmed what she said during her visit to Algiers, that the USA supports the efforts of Staffan de Mistura, personal envoy of the UN Secretary General for Western Sahara and the work of MINURSO.
The Under-Secretary visited Algiers and Rabat from 21 to 26 January, but failed to visit the SADR or to have any dialogue with the Polisario Front, the legitimate representative of the Sahrawi people.
