PUSL.- The aim of this transfer is to avoid new demonstrations of support from the family of the Saharawi political prisoner, Houssein Amadour, and the support of friends and relatives of other prisoners, as well as the NGO CODESA.
We recall that the family and other people who were outside Ait Melloul prison to express their support for the political prisoner, Mr Amaadour, were repeatedly attacked by the Moroccan authorities, leaving several injured.
According to the Saharawi NGO CODESA, on the first day of the month of Ramadan and after 33 days of open hunger strike: the Moroccan occupation force rewards a mother suffering from permanent renal failure by transferring and removing by force her son, the Saharawi political prisoner “Houssein Bachir AMAADOUR”.
On 23 March 2023, the Moroccan occupation force transferred and expelled by force the Saharawi political prisoner and hunger striker “Houssein Bachir AMAADOUR” from local prison 01 in Ait Melloul / Morocco to the central prison Moul Al-Bargu in Safi / Morocco.
In this context, the Saharawi human rights defender “Soukina Bachir AMAADOUR” reported: that she received, around 3.30 in the afternoon, a brief telephone call from her brother, in which he confirmed that he had been transferred to the central prison, Moul Al-Bargu, and that he was continuing his hunger strike.
This forced expulsion coincided with the first day of the month of Ramadan and after 33 days of open hunger strike, which had been started by the Saharawi political prisoner “Houssein Bachir AMAADOUR” to claim his full rights and to bring him closer to his family, situated in the town of Tantan, some 333 km from Agadir / Morocco.
However, the Moroccan occupation force refused to respond to his just and legitimate demands and doubled the distance of his first arrest to 640 km, the distance between his family’s residence in Tantan and the city of Safi.
The Moroccan occupying force, with these inhuman practices, aggravated the sufferings and tragedies of the family of the Saharawi political prisoner, “Houssein Bachir AMAADOUR”, sentenced to an illegal 12 year prison sentence, in particular the health and serious and difficult psychological sufferings of his mother “Ragheya Semlali Daid” (65 years old), who has suffered permanent renal failure for two years, which obliges her to undergo blood filtration for four hours twice a week in the haemodialysis centre in Tantan town.
It should be noted that since the start of the Saharawi political prison, “Houssein Bachir AMAADOUR”, in his unlimited hunger strike, has registered widespread solidarity from the families of Saharawi political prisoners, Saharawi students and activists and international observers .
The Moroccan occupation force confronted him with a systematic campaign of reprisals, since he went on hunger strike, fierce repression against solidarity activists, and the siege of his family home in the town of Tantan.
Finally, it should be pointed out that the forced transfer of the Saharawi political prisoner, “Houssein Bachir AMAADOUR”, confirms that he is on hunger strike and that his health has begun to deteriorate because of the medical neglect from which he is suffering, which has led his family to lodge a complaint with the competent authorities for a medical examination of their son, who has been on hunger strike since 20 February 2023.
