The Canarian lawyer Inés Miranda elected as new president of the Association.
At the extraordinary General Assembly of associates, held in Madrid on 25 March 2023, 28 jurists took part. Among the issues discussed were the current situation of the organisation, the adaptation of the statutes and the renewal of management positions.
By unanimous vote of the members, both present and represented, it was agreed to appoint lawyer Inés Miranda as president and Asturian lawyer Gemma Arbesú as vice-president. The new board incorporates the lawyer from Toledo, Javier Ruiz, as secretary and Pepe Revert from Alicante as treasurer. The four members of the new board of directors are Rosa De León from the Canary Islands, the Saharawi lawyer Sidi Talebbuia, Francisco Real from Castile-La Mancha and Josep María Costa from the Balearic Islands.
The agenda of the Assembly established an initial debate on the situation of the organisation, the modification of the Statutes and the elaboration of a work plan for the year 2023.
Unanimously, it was agreed to approve the new statutes, in which the will of the jurists to remain committed to the Saharawi people in their struggle for self-determination and independence, the promotion of the culture of human rights and the denunciation of the systematic aggressions committed by Morocco stands out.
Finally, the Assembly adopted its work plan for the year 2023, with special emphasis on the importance of internationalising its actions and strengthening cooperation with other organisations with similar objectives.
