Comic reading with Khadja and Fine on Wednesday, 17.05.23. Input and exchange in German spoken language.
weserterrassen.com.- Western Sahara does not refer to a desert region – it refers to a disputed area on the west coast of Africa that has been illegally claimed and occupied by Morocco for almost 50 years in violation of international law. At that time, many people who call themselves Sahrawis had to flee and have not been able to return against their will ever since. Sahrawis on the ground and in the diaspora have been fighting for the independence of Western Sahara ever since. Today, it is a place of political lack of freedom, where activists are subjected to repression and natural resources are exploited by German, European and international actors. Only a few people in Germany are aware of all this. We want to change that! That’s why we will use comic images and photos to shed light on the background of the Western Sahara conflict and report on our experiences in the refugee camps. Afterwards, we want to discuss the topic and answer all your questions to the best of our knowledge.
With: Khadja and Fine
