PUSL.- Another recognition of the Committee against Torture (CAT) regarding the Gdeim Izik Group.
Finally, the Committee notes the systemic nature of the cases related to the events of 8 November 2010 in the Gdeim Izik camp.
The UN Committee against Torture published the final decision regarding political prisoner Mohamed Bani. The complaint that was presented by his lawyer Maitre Olfa Ouled confirms the ongoing torture.
After the final decision has been taken and the Kingdom of Morocco did not comply Maitre Olfa Ouled continued to follow up the case, in accordance with the CAT internal regulations.
The fact that I’m not allowed by the Moroccan authorities to contact with Mr. Bani, poses serious concerns, said Ouled.
We see this lack of contact with increasing concern since the new phase is the following procedure that has started and it is possible that third parties are trying to obstruct it..
We recall that Maitre Ouled is also representing Mr. Abbahah, Mr. Bourial and Mr. Laaroussi before the CAT who’s cases are in a similar situation.
