New York (United States), September 20, 2023 (SPS) – The President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, stressed during his intervention in the deliberations of the United Nations General Assembly at its seventy-eighth regular session, the importance of fulfilling the principles for which the United Nations was founded and thus recognizing the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, in accordance with the relevant General Assembly resolutions.
During his intervention, the President of the Republic of South Africa reiterated his country’s support for the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence.
In the same context, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa highlighted that the African Peace and Security Council announced its readiness to enhance cooperation with the UN Security Council with the aim of ending armed conflicts on the African continent and achieving peace, stability and development.
