PUSL.- Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland posted on X that she had a meeting with UN secretary generals personal envoy for Western Sahara.
In her post we can read:
“Personal Envoy of the Secretary General Staffan de Mistura on October 20 to reiterate full U.S. support for intensified consultations to ensure a successful UN-led political process for Western Sahara without further delay. We remain committed to an enduring and dignified solution for the people of Western Sahara.”
The terminology used by the USA politician is far from the true goal of the UN which defends the right of self determination for the Saharawi people.
With the recent actions of the Biden administration that is sanctioning and supporting the genocide in Gaza, not much can be expected from the US for Western Sahara when it comes to respecting international law.
