Morocco – intentional medical neglect of saharawi political prisoner

Mr. El Wafi Wakari, saharwi student and political prisoner of the group Companions of El Wali, has been denied medical attention since his arrest in January 2018 although he was diagnosed after his detention and the Moroccan doctors told him that he needed urgent surgery.

After countless complaints of the familiy to the moroccan authorities and the CNDH (National Council for Human Rights), and the UN mechanisms for human rights and also several interventions made in the european parliament by MEP’s about this case the medical situation did not improve and the Moroccan authorities continue to ill treat Mr. Wakari by refusing to treat him.

The french lawyer that now represents this political prisoner, Maitre Marie ROCH has sent a detailed complaint to the moroccan authorities emphasizing the violation of the morrocan law itself.
