Saharawi political prisoner Mbarek Daoudi tried again

Mbarek Daoudi was sentenced yesterday, January 3 to another month in prison to add to his 5 years and six months sentence after his arrest on 29 September 2013.

The case of this Saharawi activist is a serious, continuous and repeated violation of the Moroccan law itself, having been victim of arbitrary detention and torture, including in front of his own children and successive trials and convictions after his arrest with several processes and judgments.

Yesterday’s process was carried out in the absence of Mbarek Daoudi who wasn’t informed about the charges against him and even had no chance to inform his lawyer.

The Moroccan authorities are required by law to take the prisoners to the court in case of judgment, which did not happen in the case of Mbarek Daoudi.
