The National Day of Saharawi Martyrs in the Diaspora

PUSL.- The Saharawi community in France and Northern Europe celebrated the National Day of the Saharawi Martyrs, which coincides with the date on which the founder and leader of the Polisario Front El Ouali Mustapha Sayed died in the field of honor, on June 9, 1976, when ‘ he was leading one of the liberation battles.

The Saharawi diaspora celebrates this anniversary that honors the memory of all Saharawis who have fallen on the battlefield and whose sacrifices continue to be “the lamp that lights the way of the masses” to achieve the independence of Western Sahara occupied by Morocco, supported by France .

Several activities were held on this occasion, including an artistic evening organized by the cooperative “Martyr Sidemi Al-Mokhtar” in the Paris suburbs, hosted by the Saharawi singer Dagja Mohamed Salem, accompanied by her colleague, the Mauritanian artist Noura Mint Eseimali.
